This Is For John H. V.P. and Farrin, Manu of FTA ...

U S labor law says it is illegal for employers to engage in questioning employees about union matters, union meetings, union interest. How they attend to vote for or about other employees feelings towards a union.

We asked management for a debate with FedEx reps. and Teamsters reps. awhile back through this blog site to compare non-union and union companies with no response. But upper management still are having captive meetings, which is against the law.Showing once again that management will do anything, even break labor laws, to intimidate, lie, and fish for information about union activities.

John, companies like CF did not go out of business because of the union. It was Bad management. CF had around 17,000 employee's at around $40.00 per month union dues.Thats $680,000/ month in dues.Thats $8,160,000 / year! Not even Fred Smith would turn his back on that kind of cash.

We are keeping tabs on all management and if there's enough complaints. There will be reports file with the NRLB.

Also of interest: management can be held accountable for anyone acting as a agent, even if management didn't know about or approve of the agent's actions. This means driver trainer too.

DON'T LET MANAGEMENT AT FONTANA TERMINAL QUESTION YOU ABOUT UNION ACTIVITYS, IT'S AGAISNT THE LAW, IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN FILE WITH THE UNION AND THE NLRA. CAUSE SOLIDARITY COUNTS; PLANT MANAGERS, COMPANY PRESIDENTS AND SUPERVISORS HAVE NUMEROUS RESOURCES AVAILABLE TO THEM TO ACCOMPLISH THEIR GOALS. THEY BELONG TO ASSOCIATIONS AND COALITIONS THAT HELP ADVANCE THEIR OBJECTIVES. WORKERS, ON THE OTHER HAND, HAVE ONLY THEIR NUMBERS TO PROTECT THEM AND THE NUMBERS BY THEMSELVES DO NOT INSURE SUCCESS. IT REQUIRES THAT THE WORKERS ACT IN UNISON TO ACHIEVE BETTER WAGES, HOURS AND WORKING CONDITIONS. JOE NUÑO

Report that supervisor or trailer caller to your teamster rep and stay cool. Other employees should also back you up on site otherwise they will try to break us up. Remember stay cool & hang tight were getting their attention. Some employees at national are also asking about our movement They want in as well.

They have clearly turned up the heat and are doing all they can to make people quit.

This BS idea of 5000 pounds per hour is a joke, it's meaningless. Don't fall for it. This number is a means for management to control and abuse the individual of their choice.

Assign me a trailer full of pallets of dogfood, and the chances are that I'll move 5000 pounds. Assign me a trailer full of car parts or some other hand stack, and it loks like the managers may have a problem to deal with.

Don't fall for it! It's intimidation intended to make people quit! Your ability to move 5000 lbs. is up to the supervisor! These people are using fear as a motivator. Work steady, do the best you can, and let the supervisor explain to his boss why he can't get a certain amount of freight moved!

Just play their game--they will lose in the end. We will win simply by getting representation for our side.

We had a meeting at WHT on Friday to discuss another change of operations or a change in working positions. I have a hard time believing that this is the end of our changes after our work group is altered in Jan. or whenever the managers intend to do it. I can't trust by their word alone that our work group and conditions, benefits, etc. are safe because the managers have broken that word every six months. When we were Viking Frt. we never had these problems or had to worry about the security of our jobs as we took our weekend breaks. Now we do. We have been through eathquakes, riots, 9/11, and other disasters. Hours were cut down but benefits were never even rumored to be lost during these difficult and trying times. We pulled together as a work group and much like a family and rose up to meet these challenges and serve our customers with pride in our jobs. Most of this is gone now and it is sad. It is a sad but true fact we now need a Union or 3rd party to come in to help us secure our jobs to stop Fedex upper management from threatening our benefits. Full time employees should have a choice to drive or not. We were hired on for Fedex to use our labor as dockmen and women not to be drivers. Operations Managers have said in the past here at Fedex you (hourly employees) have a right to choose if you want to work the dock, clerical, drive or whatever opportunity you seem fit. And we can now, although it is extremely uncertain if you will have benefits or not. Our economy is bad and that is true but it seems like Fedex is hurting working families where it hurts the most with their health insurance. In closing no one deserves to work hard put blind faith that the company will do them right and have the company take away from what the employees have earned through length of service. I don't have any more blind faith.

"Gold is tested by fire, brave men are tested by adversity"-anonymous

This statement couldn't be more true. It has to be realized the hourly employees of Fedex are under attack. This attack has come in the way of a company stealing hours and benefits from their full time employees. This is being done in order to fatten the upper management's pocket books and fatten those shareholders checks. It has to be a crying shame that they do this to the employees whom they make their livings off of. Their paychecks are earned by our sweat. These are times of adversity for us. We need to continue to come together as we are doing to better our workplace.
Looking for the positive and together as a collective bargaining unit. Let's disuade the empty company promises and bond together to fight for fair treatment and fair wages on the job. This is a fight we can and will win. United we bargain divided we beg.

I am ready to help Union effort and help sign petitions. I no want the Fedex Freight to take my benefits and force me to drive what I dont want to do. No more anti union harasment.

I feel like John Hinckly aka MR X, has been lying to us workers. He told us 6 months ago that there is no conspiracy to get rid of full time dock workers. Now real fast he is saying we got to get our CDLs. I dont trust this guy. Then he tries to have anti union meetings saying the union and its supporters are a bunch of "sharks". Its more like Hinckly and the other managers smell the blood in the water with the bad economy and now are trying to shark up all our benefits. Its just what I expect from these managers. Nothing good has happened in this company since we were Viking. Fedex bought us and the way we are treated now has all gone downhill now. Pure hate from Fedex.....................

I have heard about the petitions stating that us the hourly employees need a more secure and fair environment to work in. I will be first in line to sign those that is a good idea.

There are far to many changes to keep up with but im sure some are built in to push older workers out the door or at least cut their hours and benefits. If senior drivers have to drive the yard hostlers those employee are most likely 55 or older and all that running climbing and up and down could lead to more injuries. The senior dock workers are right that they could also see reduced hours and benefits due to that class a license request. Data entry senior workers are starting to feel what were feeling and the shops too. There is no reason or reasons to not sign a union card asap. There will be more meetings from management some will sound positive but remember they hold the keys and can change anything they want when they want As you and I have seen. Lets make the next teamster meeting the biggest turnout yet. Look for the next teamster comming your way soon. United we Bargan right Vote Yes.

Yesterday I saw some more Union Yes employee being harassed at WHT on the dock about the Union. Everybody working saw what was going on with the SCM talking down the Union on the dock with a Union Yes employee.

The partition on the dock desk at WHT was pulled down so that supervisors can watch us more. This is the billboard that usually has the anti union lies the company throws up on it. So not only is the company watching us on camera surveillance but they are following around employees too trying to spy on Union activity on lunches and breaks.

The Union at Whittier is now big, thick, and deep. Management harrassment is at its best too harrassing employees like we live and work in a third world country. All I have to say is .............."They're Here"

"I no want the Fedex Freight to take my benefits and force me to drive what I dont want to do."

Hi Juan, So what do you think they should do about forcing employees who can't get a C.D.L. for some reason or other such as visual impairment or a poor driving record?

It seems to me that if they were hired on as dockworkers with full knowledge of the condition, forcing them out the door because they can't meet new standard is an unfair labor practice.

Do you think that there will be a class action suit throughout the system? I'm sure that people can prove prior knowledge. Don't you think?

So, maybe you won't have to drive.

UPS Freight dockworkers make 21.95 per hour starting this year. This is not including their medical insurance or bonus checks. The medical insurance UPS Freight pays is 25 per month for medical for a single employee. As of 2013 UPS top of scale for Dockworkers is 25.50 per hour. We should be paid the same as UPS Freight and the only reason UPS Freight gets paid more is the fact that there is a third party negotiating on their behalf.

We need a neutrality agreement for organizing a Union at Fedex. Fedex management is trying too hard to harrass employees following them around to their cars, following them to the bathroom, watching them on their breaks, and yelling and terrorizing them. It needs to stop and I think the labor board needs to be involved.

Is FedEx management Stubborn? FedEx management please don't dig your Heels in. Be open to CHANGE. TEAMSTER POWER!!

Really? If management is not allowed to question union activities then why do I see Andy Lessen (Whittier term. manager) harrassing Paul Riebson on the dock?

Anonymous said...

It is a different day but same old anti Union harrassment from the WHT PM supervisors. More harrassment at WHT as union yes employees are being singled out and being tore down verbally. Supervisors feeling insecure about the Union coming in are lashing out at drivers and dockworkers at WHT. This is going on in WHT dispatch too.

It was first suggested to us by one of our Operations Managers that if we didn't like the way things were going at FedEX Freight, we could always write a letter. It is good to see that is what has happened. If large numbers of people that sign this letter, the more likely it is to be noticed; and positive change will be affected throughout the company.

A letter to whom? The company!? Didn't anybody tell you that the company (FDX West) is no longer going to be in existance come the first of the year? What do you think the new management will do with a list of dissenters? They are out to take as much as possible from us, man. That's business, and that is how it is always going to be. Join the Teamsters, then we don't have to mess around with letters and such!

seeing pro union employees get harassed and talked down to by wht pm sups. why is it if fedex is such a great place to work do we have managers even scms and supervisors talking down to employees saying they want to "educate" them? like we are sweatshop workers in china or something. it is redeculous and if they are truthful in us finding the truth. then why is it managers dont let us find out for ourselves what is better fedex or teamsters. i really didnt like it when managers at wht lied to us and said only a few full timers will have to get their cdls and now they are saying 20 have to get cdl. why all the lies we need the teamsters in here.

Anonymous said...

it seems more and more guys wanting the union in now and are tired of the fedex lies. i am tired too no more lies and things will be a lot better when the union finally gets in here andy will have a hard time with it but so what. a union is to help the hourly employees not management. that is just too bad that management will have to get off their cell phones and take their lunches out of their mouths and do some work and not shouldering their work onto the hourlys employees like they do now.
