A Message To Managers ....

Mike Zanoli you can’t tell the employees that the Teamsters will never happen in FedEx, you as V.P. of operation of FedEx Freight West can’t dictate employee’s choice for unionism, which is a violation of the National Labor Relations Act, section 7 & sec 8.
You as V.P. of operation of FedEx Freight West violated the Act in Fresno by discussing union matters and questioning employee’s choice for union representation in front of other employees.
You must accept the fact that we are going forward in our Drive for unionism, and that there will be more Service centers joining our Drive, meaning FedEx Express, Ground, West, East, And L.T.L, this is our ”choice” it’s too late to fix our decisions.

Fresno Meeting Update ...

The FedEx Watch Dogs would like to congratulate the employees of our Fresno Service Center for standing up to upper management from San Jose at yesterday’s meeting there. After what was and done Mike Z. told these employees that Corporate was not going to help them with any of their problems that they have with their managers in Fresno and that they would have to work it out themselves. The employees of Fresno have already tried this Mike with nothing there being done.
So now Fresno knows what has to be done and so should the rest of FedEx Freight West and all of FedEx across the United States. Thank You-VIP’s!

About Union Dues ...

This is for our new viewers to this blogsite. Welcome!

Union dues are 2 1/2 times your hourly wage.As a driver I make $22.40 hr. That would make my dues $56.00 a month. This money is for the up keep of the locals who represent your service center. This also gets you representation by the Union who
will fight with you with a grievance procedure in case of a wrongful termination or suspension. Most likely you pay insurance for your house, cars and valuable things, so why not your job?

I pay $28.00 a paycheck for my medical a week. That’s $112.00 a month just for that. Plus my co-pays,which have gone up in price this year also! You do the math. Would it be cheaper to pay out of your pocket $112.00 a month, $1344 a year?
Or $56.00 a month, $672.00 a year? I don't know about you, but I could sure use that extra $672.00 a year and not depend on that crap shoot of a Vpep at end of the fiscal year. Which is most likely going to be around $960.00 minus taxes, minus 401K deductions.

A Concerned Ex Combo Driver

I am an ex Gardena Driver who remembers that favoritism is still alive and well with FLC. I was there when a regional manager said to a group of Combo Drivers if we wanted to make more money we should get into line haul because ,” Combo Drivers are the bottom of the barrel.”

I have seen that FLC still have their favorite Combo Drivers that they save loads for and give them the money runs and leave a group of drivers who don’t share cigarettes, bring them food or snacks on the dock. So these drivers get to see more dock time for most of the night and after they have worked most of the night on the dock, then have to run loads in the middle of morning traffic, tired and pissed that the kiss a….s got to run most of the miles with a lot less traffic!

What should be done is that Combo Drivers should be paid by the hour as Union Drivers are who run fifty miles or under to make things an even playing field and make this a job they can be proud of. What gets me is that line haul drivers don’t even give Combo Drivers any respect! When things are slow around the system a line haul will take a run close just to get their miles. And when its busy he would say “don’t give me that run, its for a Combo Driver.”

This blog is to educate us on the importance of becoming a Union Company, because this is the right thing to do!

Black History is Teamster History

The numerous contributions of black members to the success of the Teamsters Union are varied and as old as the union itself. Black team drivers attended the first Convention in 1903 and were active in all aspects of the union, including leadership, from the beginning. That commitment remains strong today.
