We need the Teamsters in Fontana docks, we lost a co-worker PM crew for expressing and defending his action trying to clear himself. But Manu, Frank Escobar and Roger Boring took it as a threat and fired this PM dock worker. We have no more open door policy anymore, no levarage and no voice to stand on. But management is allowed to bring in their kind to witness and testify on their ground. But does an employee have the Rights to bring in his witness to testify and balance his point of view,No..... It must be fair when management bring 3 people in and the employee has the Right to bring 3 on his side. Now when management says no you can't bring in your witness in, get it in writting why you are not allow to have your witnesses, and bring out your cell phone and tell them you will be recording the meeting that's taking place for your security purpose. WE NEED A UNION NOW..........

For my home, car and most other bills I had to sign a contract promising to pay, yet we don't have a contract here at our jobs. This has allowed the company to change my hours, reducing the amount of money I have coming in. We need a contract that secures FAIR WAGES and a union that is strong enough to get a good contract is the Teamsters. PEGGY THIEL

When we stand together as a union, we will have a strong voice on the job. With our voice we will be able to fight for the things that matter to us, such as: 1. Stronger wages 2. Affordable health insurance for us and our families. 3. Defined hours, so we can go full-time or part-time. 4. A better system concerning our co-workers at FedEx. 5. Rewarding our dedication to FedEx by ending favoritism. 6. Safety. 7. Consistent work rules.

I want some guarantees in writing so our work rules don't change whenever someone changes their mind. With the Teamsters, we can negotiate work policies that are fair and consistent for everyone. The way I see it, FedEx has binding contracts with their big customers. Why don't we have a contract, too?"

Thank You Peggy for your comment and leaving your name. We wished everyone would stand up like you have.

I attended a union meeting here in Reno,Nv, and was told by the union, other facilities are only signing a petition to get the union in. I was told, unless you sign a UNION PLEDGE CARD, they won't concider you serious and won't campaine for a union. We have started the ball rolling here in Reno. And was told, we may be the lead dogs and others will follow after we get unionized. We still got a ways to go, but are well under way.

"Now when management says no you can't bring in your witness in, get it in writting..."

Good luck, but if you do get it in writing, it's going to be fun!!

Read about weingarten rights for non-union employees. Don't skip reading the Q & A because they have rights, too.

We also is Los Angeles service ctr are demanding for the help of the Teamsters, our dock workers are going down to part time with no benefits. Hostlers and fuelers, dockworkers are force to get their CDL just to be full time, and the bad thing about it we don't dovetail, they say it's not a change of operation "bullshit if it ain't". It's was a change of operation when San Jose was decided to close down and move all operation to Harrison Arkansa. TEAMSTERS TEAMSTERS WE WILL BE THE MIGHTY TEAMSTERS OF FEDEX FREIGHT. FROM: LOS ANGELES SCR CTR. AND WHEN OTHERS AT CENTER START STEPPING THE PLATE I WILL PROUDLY PUT MY NAME.

Mr. Los is right the closing of San Jose and shifting all operation and power to Harrison Ark make's it a change of operation, we should be able to dovetail in our new titles. When John Hinkley said there wasn't going to be to much change in ourTerminals but only linehaul he lie. John you were an icon once and took care of the people before, but now you join the secret society of Corparate greed, and I believe it's time for us to Change too. We need a better pension plan and a medical plan for all who contribute to this company, full time or part time. We demand a fair contract to secured our future and John you alway's denied your bad apples in your region of management. that is why we need a Teamsters contract. No more Bullshit!! San Fernando Valley.

We we're told by management in oxnard that the organizing campaign in the southern region was just a rumor, but after seeing Fontana and San Bernardino and the Teamsters at Raging Waters passing litature, it's true. When are the Teamsters coming to our gates in Oxnard?

This is a cool website, screw Fedexfreightworkplace.com pure union busting we here at San Diego are getting in contact with local 683 we are going to be working with Wayne Lovett. The time has come to unionize now!

Time has change with us, where the Employee once was respected and had dignity and had pride, and our company ran with common sense. But now the red shirt motto is to put fear in the employees, because respect follows fear and you get no dignity. There was once a way of running the company with common sense and now is common practice, by using an employee as an example for fear! Let's stand together and organize now with theTeamsters. San Diego Service Center.

supporting a union is a no brainer, of course you are going to want a union. working union employees come to work with a positive attitude not negative stress like fedex. supervisors and employees work in harmony because their roles are defined by a union contract. the biggest thing a union does is negotiate a better pay for the workers. employees make more money if they work union. wake up fedex part timers quit working in fear and join the fedex teamsters

I just saw that fedexfreightworkplace.com site. Was that thing cheezy or what? I liked the part under "Strikes". It reads that "Teamster management isn't afraid to put it's members on the picket line". Teamster members would have to vote in favor of going on strike. Teamster Management isn't going to do it. What kind of fools do they think we are. The whole reason for going Teamsters is so that the average employee of FedEx Freight has an equitable say in their workplace situation and future in general. If Teamster managenment put it's members on strike without it's members input who'd want to be a Teamster? I tell you, though I did like the glossary, that site is twisted, and just so much Whoooeee! And did I forget to mention that the site isn't interactive; But then again, why would it be? That sort of thing is something FedEx would reserve for customers; not the workers who make the company run.

Management you really need to do your homework, one thing the Teamsters never forces you to join them or follow you or even trick about a phony event just so they could hammer you down. If the Teamsters we're like the video or even like your website discribes them, they would just be like you guys (management) then we be looking for another union maybe like the longshoremen. I have just started going to the union hall and the people from the Teamsters are not what management discribes they are. They are well manner and educated people. John Hinkley after yesterdays meeting you really contracdited yourself and lied now I see the light, maybe the employees should hired a managerbuster and not a unionbuster, hmmmmmm if you unionbusters are reading this maybe this would be another source of revenue for you guys (bust the management) money is your priorty because you could care less about the human life.

you are all right, fontana has gone to crap. frank puts others down for not giving 110 percent, but when was the last time you saw him put 100 percent into anything other then a sports game. i really think he, along with other red shirts, need to realize they are next. Why would we need an operations manager if all his supervisors do all his work already. And why would we need an assistant terminal manager......well ED's secretary is more like it. I have done everything i could for the company and still after all these years of making them look good and helping these red shirts become management, they turn their backs. Its ok though no hard feelings, but when i am a dock driver making part time hours, ill gladley escort you red shirts off the property when you get laid off. Frank, open your eyes, its time to step up to the plate and practice what you preach, its not "do as i say and not as i do", its lead by example, get it right. So enjoy your games on our tv, enjoy your smiles when you get to screw over another employee, just remember, no one has your back anymore, here at the terminal, all you have behind you is the shirt you have on. good luck trying to run a terminal you have no clue about, You dont have the slightest idea on how things run, but yet you think you have power. Well guess what, that read shirt doesnt mean you have power, it just means the company owns you more than me. How does it feel knowing that you have no say so but what they tell you to do . We still have choices, we still have a voice. Maybe one day youll step up to the plate and repay for all that was given to you. Cause a manager should take care of their workes not screw them, i cant wait to see you walk out for the last time. That will finally put a smile on my face.

To the Fontana dock people that were let go.contact the State of California Labor department.
They may be able to help you.
Then too, cover yourself.Rccord the meeting.Demand an impartial witness.
Protect yourself.
If it isn't obvious by now-THEY DON'T WANT US HERE ANYMORE.
If you have seniority you have a target on you.
For all you people that think it will ,"all work out",it will but unless you organize-and yes that means the TEAMSTERS-YOU will not be part of it.

IF the dock worker jobs are PT and the union is voted in. What are the odds of them making the dock workers Full time again?

Thanks-
50/50 dockworker

irudedog said...

Anything is possible, 50/50. That's one of the reasons we schould have organized a year ago before all these changes. If we had, we could have at least kept things the same and let the changes happen to new hires, instead of 10 to 25 year veterens.
But now we could try to get medical benefits for part-timers. When the time comes.

Anonymous said...

irudedog? just a quick question, if we were to become union wouldnt that open the door for all these other union company drivers to come in with their strap? Even though you have 20 years with the company, does that hold over in the union if we became it now or do i start fresh? and everything you answer, can i get it all in writting? just one more question, what is going to happen to all those drivers and employees that are getting laid off, that are in the union. There isnt work out there for all of them so what are they going to do?

Anonymous said...

Good morning I have a question, how much we have to pay for Medical Insurance when we become union.

irudedog said...

Thank you for your questions. As far as an ex-union employee being hired here, like any other company, they are a new hire and start at the bottom. The advantage of us being a union company for this new hire is that they can continue to invest into his pension and medical benefits. So if he or she has worked, say like at Yellow freight for 25 yrs. He or she would have to work 5 more years here at Fdx and receive full pension and medical for LIFE!
As far as people losing their union jobs, it's not the Teamsters fault. As we all know, unless your from another planet! The economy is very, very uncertain.lately and will affect companys to make very hard decisions. But once again these people will at least be able to go to another union company and continue vesting into their pension and medical.

Signed
Rudy

p.s. get better and get back to work. also don't be shy to put your name next time.

payments for medical payments is part of what we negociate in our contract. rule of thumb is you don't negociate for anything less . ie if you pay $30 a week, your not going to negociate $50 a week. right? you'll tell your committee go back and do better.

i work union and pay 12 dollars a month for medical insurance, 17.99 for vision, dental is free plus 48 dollars in union dues a month. how much do you non-union fedexers pay per month? be wise organise
