This is a must read for all FedEx employees. To read what other people from our communities have come to realize about FedEx. This should open the eyes of the non-believers, that organizing this company is the only option for us all to stop the bleeding, of a company who has lost sight of the people who really put this company in the spotlight.

We the Employees of FedEx!

Rudy,
It's been a while since I visited and commented. I had lunch today with one of my SFV buds and was told that 5 more drivers were being laid off as of next week. Tonight I received a call from a dockhand SFV bud of mine who said they were all told today in a meeting to sign away their benefits or be terminated, he got almost thirty years in.... I feel so sad for all those friends of mine,I spent half of my life at VIKING FREIGHT NOT FU FREIGHT, I never considered myself a fedex guy, today shows why....After brainstorming and contemplating the theory behind these benefit moves, it is clear that all dockhand jobs are going away and this act of employee terrorism proves their motives...I don't like to give this kind of advice but here it goes...A dockhand who is asked to sign away his benefits is going to be removed, removed, removed, remember this is an at will state,an at will state....The only salvation for them at this point is to immediately go to the emergency hospital and complain of chest pains and anxiety, or I'm sure they have some kind of back injury because it's not possible to not have an injury from this job, and get out on disability now. This is their only way to keep their benefits intact, there going to be terminated anyway, there is no need for loyalty, how could anyone have loyalty now,,,are they still seeing those roses that FexEx promises or can they see that those are actually weeds being delivered....This is a Company of unfathonable hypocrisy, and are sinking to such a pathetic low and slapping every hard working guy in the face, this is a death sentence for a few of my cancer friends at the company, how are they every going to be insured again once they get cut of their benefits...They are uninsureable period... they couldnt care less that your children won't be able to go to the doctor when their sick....
It was a wake up call years ago...Now it is a defcon 5 emergency, to take action for themselves...the nuke bomb for their jobs will fall right after they sign off on the benefits issue, this is the clearest vision of all......NOSTRADAMOS

Wow this is terrible but just what I expect from the folks back east. There has not been one positive thing happen to Fedex Freight in years and as UPS Freight passes us by in employee compensation and overall service because they are a Union company and pay their dockworkers 21 dollars per hour plus benefits. How much are Fedex dockworkers getting? 19 top of scale. Don't let the management at Fedex lie to you anymore there is no choice but to go Union. Drive up the top of scale not dwindle it down. Shame on those managers who only care about themselves and do not stand up for health insurance for their workers those managers are nothing but cowards. And thats the bottom line cause Hoffa Life said so...........

I know alot of us are losing benefits and having our status changed to part time and if you have a wife and kids it cant be an easy task either way. But fedex will continue to cut and reduce and change anything they want when they want and there is no end in sight. For all the non belivers out there your job is safe just keep your mouth closed and take it from the rest of us we will all be standing in the food line together but some of us will be in front of you. Dont worry about your family they will be there too, watch and see your next because no one is safe. were talking about employees with 10 15 20 and now over 25 years of service being cut, forced to sign paperwork that changes not just there income but there way of living there life has changed for the worst. Fedex will never be what Viking was.

Who do you think will be next once the dockhands loose their benefits ? and it still is not enough of a cut. There is another option, maybe the drivers can pitch in a bit with Hmmmm, I know their benefits. Not an unrealistic thought because who can really stop them ???
Ask Greg Sullivan who he is going to blame all these problems on...There is no union to blame, I thought this only happens if there is a union,,,Oh no FedEx would never lay anyone off,,,his words. Maybe it's time for him and lots of management people to be laid off. Do we really need all these overpaid idiots...The local colleges will be producing higher educated business whiz kids who can replace them for a huge discount...Now that's what should go in the sugestion box. What do you think ?

I am not aiming my comments at you; I am aiming my comments at the sentiment. So, brother, please don't take offense to my using your words.

"Who do you think will be next once the dockhands loose their benefits?"

This idea disgusts me. How many of us are people willing to watch be cut down before the next cry, "Drivers are next!" is heard?

Many of us have lost everything. All the commentators on this page spelled out some very compassionate thoughts, and I would have been proud to stand alongside of you as we said "NO!" to the continued exploitation of Fedex workers. For that compassion, I say thank you all.

Before I leave you all in peace, I want to lay a couple of thoughts on you.

Suppose we all had organized.

How strong do you think that union would be? Keep in mind that the strength of the union depends on the strength of the brotherhood.

Would the group concede to letting the dockworkers fall as long as they didn't touch the drivers?

Would the drivers stand behind some kind of collective response to a violation of the contract. . .if the violation occured with respect to a dockworker?

Do the drivers really think they have a chance of organizing when a huge chunk of the workforce is made up of part-timers who have no stake in the company?

These are all questions you need to ask yourselves because that is what a union is all about: the team. Take a good look at the faces around you. Ask someone how he or she is doing, and ask if that person has a family. Ask how he or she is sleeping at night and if they have any worries that their children will be safe and secure. Open your hearts to them; listen to what they have to say.

And when you watch them shuffle out the door with nothing but the clothes they have on and the dirt from the dock, think about the answers they gave. Think about them, not yourselves.

How much are you willing to sacrifice? Remember, you only get the support you are willing to give.

THOSE ARE GOOD COMMENTS AND WERE ALL IN THIS CRAP TOGETHER LIKE IT OR NOT. AS FOR THE DOCK OR ANY OTHER POSISTION HERE WHEN WE GET THE UNION FORMED WE DECIDE WHAT THE BEST CONTRACT IS AND THAT MEANS WE CAN BRING FULL TIME STATUS BACK TO MOST OF OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS, I BELIVE ITS UPS FRT OR USF ONE OF THEM HAS A DOCK WORKERS CAP FOR FULL TIME AT 70 % OF THERE WORK FORCE HAVE TO BE FULL TIME AND BENEFITED. ALL DRIVERS AND OFFICE ARE FULL TIME AND THE HARBOR UNIONS HAVE SHOWN ALL OF US IF YOU WALK OUT AS A TEAM YOU CAN EARN SOME RESPECT. IF WE ALLOW TEHM TO PICK US OFF A FEW AT A TIME WE ARE ALL ABOUT TO LOSE.

"Not the right time to join the Teamsters.""They'll shut the place down and move the freight too_____.""I'm with you but can't get involved, you see I'm________(fill in the blanks.""I'm doing ok,and anyhow it'll all work out."
Heard all the excuses and the excess of the corporation continue to rock on.
Lastest rumor-but from an excellent source-is that the tractors will follow the run.
Bottom line.NO MORE BID TRACTORS-unless you are lucky enough to have the run that the tractor is assigned too.
I TOLD YOU SO !!!!.
You are now reduced to A WORKER UNIT.Your input is not wanted nor tolerated.Your TEAM spirit lasts as long as they can't find something to fire(separated employment ala Mike Moss-Where is he anyhow.)you over.
Only consulation is that management is beginning to feel the separated employment phenom.
That, however, doesn't feed you or your family.
If you don't take a stand and vote to join the Teamsters things will only get worse. And, they are,"I told you so."
