Stand Up Together East and West

This morning in Devore we had another new rule that will go into effect in January '09. It has to do with miss delivering shipments for local drivers. If we deliver a shipment to a wrong address and it's a first offence. Its a three day suspension! No verbal,no write up.

Now I have read some comments on the Trucking boards website that the western divisions of FedEx freight are a bunch of whiners. The only thing I could say about that Fdx East, is that we in the Western divisions know when we are being taking advantage of. Its one thing that a company says to you ' we can't give you anymore ', ie: raises etc. considering these very hard economcial times. But to take away from loyal employees, like hours, which means money & also benefits from not just the workers, but from their families also!

When was the last time you heard Fred Smith complain he couldn't go to a doctor because he had no medical insurance? When was the last time you heard him say I can only pay the mortgage this month, We'll pay the utilities next month.

The time to organize is now!Fdx East. Just don't rollover and hide under a rock!
Stand up for yourseleves.
Stand up for your families and join the West in doing the right thing and organize!

Change begins with you!
Change begins with us !

The FedEx Watch Dogs.

the east needs to step it up and not be afriad of the management. this is evident as the employees act all buddy buddy with the management back east and out west in order to feel safe about their jobs. this is simply not the case. as an hourly at will employee you will never be safe in this cut throat company called fedex. andy lessin promotes all his buddies at whittier and this practice from andy is the status quo practice. andy lessin has always furthered the careers of preferred employees and disregarded actual job performance and seniority. some people have two faces and some management have six or seven faces like mr lessin

Saying that Lessin promotes his buddies is redundant. What else is new? Water is wet, the sky is blue? Lessin just promotes "yes men" who won't question any of the decisions that come down, regardless of merit. Look at the recent "promotion" in city-dispatch for further proof. But you reap what you sew, and now Lessin's got two bullies in city-dispatch that are eroding the morale of ALL the local drivers, and forcing us to back the union.....

We know Fedex east management is fishing from tranfer employees, questioning those employee for information about union activities in the west. Also east management is telling those employees that if the west employees don't stop this organizing, they will get rid of us in the west and replace us with the east employees. Fedex east mngt don't break the Law, we have federal Laws that protect us......

Whiners? How funny. Perhaps the employees at FedEx East don't have any idea of what we had. Maybe none of them have been working there for more than a handful of years. I'd like to know how long the average employee survives at FedEx East. Then maybe we can discuss the importance of suffering in silence. Then maybe we can define a man by the amount of shit he's willing to take.

Give me a break. The East/West argument looks like the Conservative/Liberal arguments we just had to go through for 8 miserable years!

Notice the new term."Leadership Team",this is designed to separate management from LABOR-that's you and me.
Remember when we were all part of the team ? Getting the job done and in the process capturing 22% of the business in our market area.
Now,with the new East methods being implimented we're down to 16%-their numbers not mine.Wow what a marketing approach.Geez,in no time we'll be down to 10% or less.
Who will get the blame? You guessed it-you and me,that is:LABOR.
CYA is the name of the game.
Bottom line is we have got to get representation for our own safety and that is the TEAMSTERS.
After the first of the year it's a new game.

The harassment continued at WHT as Luis Herrera stood out of the way of the cameras he was staring at me following me around as I was working for about an hour and as I waived to Luis in full view of the cameras Luis flipped me off while I was out of the cameras view. Luis was trying to bait me so I would react. Also Sergio Hernandez watches me while I take my lunches now and when I told Luis I had to go take a crap Sergio followed me into the bathroom and I took a leak then washed my hands Sergio then walked out of the bathroom. I then went into the bathroom stall to take a crap and I heard someone with a radio enter the bathroom the through the crack in the crapper door I saw Sergio peak his head into the crapper door looking at me taking a crap. Also Sergio was following me while I was doing my job hiding behind a pallet when one of my co workers told me Sergio was behind a pallet watching me. When I told Sergio to come out from behind Sergio didn't so I continued to do my joband scan in my travel copy. When I turned back after scanning in my travel copy Sergio was gone.

Look like business as usual from Andy Lessin and the Union buster lawyers at Fedex WHT.

i have seen these supervisors acting as nazi like watchers of hourly employees up on the dock. it is appalling that they act this way.

Lessin sounds like our scm Hank here in Tacoma. They could be brothers. I have to say that with the Oak Harbor strike, the locals here have abandonded us. No word from any of them for well over two months. Why is that? We've also heard that it's the union that is keeping Oak Harbor out because of a suggested change in the medical. Is that true? I thought members voted on offers from the company.

Fedex can do whatever they want to us whenever they want. The east cowers but the west is used to speaking out and not taking bs answers from their "leaders". We're learning how it is to be east now. Shut your pie hole or you're down the road. What a great work environment. If they pay any attention to their workplace surveys, and I don't understand why they waste the money doing them, they will see great unhappiness now. Not that they care.

I'm not saying the Union would solve all our problems, but I would love to stick that stick in their eye.

Tacoma. The locals are not going to call you guys and ask " hey fedex, do you want to join the Teamsters?" It has to start with You! And your fellow employees.
When your hungry, do you wait for Jack in the Box to come up to your door and say " hey Tacoma do you want a burger?"No! You get off your rear and go get what you want to eat.
So if your hungry for a change at the workplace, the change must begins with you and your fellow employees.

Say Hi to Nick at local 313

Rudy

p.s.the employees at Oak Habour voted to go on strike not the Teamsters.
