YRC Worldwide plunges as debt fears re-emergeMay 13, 2009 3:31 PM ET

NEW YORK (AP) - Shares of one of the nation's largest trucking companies, YRC Worldwide Inc., sank Wednesday as investors continued to worry that it might not meet its credit requirements this quarter.

Overland Park, Kansas-based YRC said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission late Monday that it needs to cut more costs and get more shipments in order to counteract the steep decline in revenue from the slumping economy. In order to stay in line with its creditors obligations, it needs to post earnings before taxes depreciation and amortization of $45 million.

Thats to bad, Fedex has better leaders here. We shell out millons to superbowl ads, Nascar, Ceo's Retirment packages, Truck and trailer washing during these so called hard times, BBQ'S like todays TDC in ontario, the managers and sales folks had that big meeting in Dallas last year with Prime Rib and those hidden bonuses. Some still ask why would you and I want to give the teamsters 25.00 a week or 100.00 a month to get the same benefits we have now. Why Becaus alot of us have lost our Senioity, Lost our Benefits, Lost our start times, Lost our way of life, Lost our full time status, Lost our Respect, Lost our chance at a better retirement than most and already spent 15 20 years of our life here working to make Fedex the best. Without A binding contract more cuts will come, more loses will happen, more people will get shafted. The Teamsters were never needed at Viking, But Fedex has really screwed alot of people. TEAMSTERS 952 ARE HERE FOR YOU AND I, SO BECOME ONE TODAY.

That is the simplest and the best way to put the current outlook at Fedex. Great stuff.

I’m an Anaheim driver on lay off with no benefits for my family. Shame on Anaheim’s bad management. They harass drivers that want to be part of the union drive, telling drivers about yrc but it’s too late now I should have listened to the teamsters outside the gate two years ago I shouldn’t have listened to those drivers that were telling me that the union is bad for you. Now my wife and my kids say that I should have voted for the union a long time ago, now my family is paying the price. great video guys

shame on fedex freight management abuising drivers with years of experience, forcing them to work the dock. A line driver in anaheim working 33 years has to work the dock in SBO, while part timers are getting long runs in WHT and SBO, and here i'm waiting at home to be called by CLC. I'm also a line driver from anaheim, the most anti- union terminal can't wait to be a TEAMSTER MEMBER. See you at the next meeting Rudy and Joe thanks for that great video it was awesome.

Like every Corporation in america is doing right now, simple solution is to fired Bill Zollar. We all have expirence Zollar Corporate investment planing even here at our old Viking Frt System, and the bottom line it has failed !. We are expirencing the same mentality here at FedEx ( by Harrison Arkansa) and we are not even a unionize Corporate facility. but heading in the same direction of Bill Zollar. Well let me say our old Corporate facility in Santa Clara did a 100% better way of running FedEx Frt than our new leaders, our new leader are killing the American Dream and creating a third world country like their Brothers and Sister of Arkansa Wal-Mart... We must join the Teamsters now, be wise and organize now, and remember keep the dirty side down! Joe Nuño

working the dock after being here for 20 25 and what 30 years this is all just presure hopeing you will quit and a few have done so, dont fall for the bait just do what they say for now, and if you can hang in there do it. I know senior drivers hate the am docks because the inbound loads are junk. a few more weeks brothers and sisters.

hey joe nuno if you were'd out here in the east we would take you out in the woods and beat the crap out of you, beat the thought of the union from your head. It's true our east managers are tougher and better skill than your pansy west coast managers. all you people in the west coast ever want is more money for your fancy homes and expensive toys, just be happy you got a job asshole!!!

Mr.East (you are better than west) Show some class and education. From my judgement of you, the way you respect and treat people is the way you want to be treated. This will be the last reponse to you, I want people to see the ignorance you are and if you had some kind of education, you would have read the top portion of this website, that this site is for people interested in forming a union and not an anti-union site. As for me being a organizer for the union(Teamsters) you could kick the crap of me, but you won't take my drive for the Teamsters away cause I am a proud Teamsters now ! Joe Nuño

Typical anti Union harassment from managers. This is the kind of unethical behavior which happens in service centers here in the WHT service center.

Hey Joe!

I know this guy! I work with him!

He's the guy who doesn't mind the hundreds of "security" cameras ('cause he's got noting to hide). He doesn't mind the insurance increases we get every year ('cause they're necessary). He doesn't mind other people being terminated, ('cause he's still getting his).

And he wakes and breathes Rush Limbaugh. His youthful wisdom, by his own account, is far superior to that of the age and experience of some old driver. ;-)

What does this tell you?
"[. . .] our east [coast] managers are tougher and better skill[ed] than your pansy west coast managers."

When I waws a kid, I remember the old saying, "My dad can beat up your dad." Not much difference, no?

all you people in the west coast ever want is more money for your fancy homes and expensive toys. " East yes sir man " you must be an idiot and I bet you live in a trailer trash park. You must love to grill chicken feets and eat pickle eggs, and I suppose you have a Dodge Duster with a camper mounted on the trunk and call it a motorhome. I suppose you don't want no more money cause you have your fancy (trailer home) and your cheap inexpensive homemade toys. Lets see you have great medical benefit too, you east coast people probably have Met-veterinarian Doctors treatment he-ha. For your family entertianment you probably go to the big City and checkout Billy bob at Wal-Mart greet them city folks, and you are probably saying "MA" was right "Thats entertianment! Now for me, I want to have more better pay and good medical benefit for my family (real doctors), and a fair decent pension that I will survive in the future. A fancy two story home, so my children have their own rooms. Your damm right, we west coast people want the Union, cause I don't want to be you! asshole!!!!

THEY TOLD US THE CHANGES WERE COMING AND WE SAID NO WAY. THEY SAID YOUR NEXT AND WE SAID NO WAY. THEY SAID MORE CHANGES WERE COMING AND WE SAID NO WAY. NOW THEY SAY YOUR GOING PART TIME AND WE DONT CARE ABOUT YOU FAMILY. WE STOOD BY AND WATCHED, WE REACTED AFTER THE CHANGES, NOW WE STAND HERE AND SAY WHATS NEXT. WHAT DO YOU THINK IS NEXT, YOUR JOB FOOL. ALL OUR JOBS BECAUSE WE ALLOW THEM TO CONTROL OUR EVERY MOVE WITHOUT A BINDING CONTRACT. WITHOUT THE TEAMSTERS BACKING EACH AND EVERY ONE OF US WERE AS GOOD AS GONE AT THEIR MERCY. BECOME A TEAMSTER AND GET YOURS BEFORE THEY TAKE IT ALL AND THEY WILL TAKE IT ALL IF YOU LET THEM.

Regardin that,"Hey Joe",feller.
He's got a contract already. It has in it:his right to be treated like a rented mule-which includes the company can take away his job classification at any time;take away his status as full or part time;reduce the number of hours worked;take away vacation time-heck,if ya ain't workin why ya need vacation time anyhow?More time for fishin or possum huntin.
Benefits?who needs 'em.A spoon full o'grandmas'elxir cures everything but snake bite.
And the best part of his contract is that he didn't have to sign it.
Ya see he ain't had much schoolin, least not to where he learned to write;but he was ahead of his paw who was in the same grade as he was for all the years they were in the same grade.
So ya'll see every thing is relative-not like aunts and uncles and such-but in a funny kinda way.
The best part of workin at Fredex for the,"Hey Joe", feller is that they give him clothes to wear.AND,they ain't from the charity box at the church.
Why,on Sunday go to meetin(both am and pm) he looks so dandy in his Fredex outfit 'cept some of the fellas have taken to teasin him for wearin girls colors(purple). They call it that popsicle color.Had two fights about it alraedy.
Well I reckon ya'll get the point 'bout the,"Hey Joe",feller.Ya see he's a product of his environment.

Hahahahaha. Right on, Frankie! 'ceptin, I dun peed in my overalls!

I heard a rumor that Fedex has signed a contract with US Express to hauk more line frieght. Is that true and how much? The number I heard was ridiculous and not at all in line with a company that proclaims "low business volume" as a reason for laying off employees. In other words, they have the business volume to keep the employees on full-time status, but they are giving it away.

As a linehaul driver, are you hip to this mess?

giving line haul freight away so they can cut more line runs and that means some of you folks are out of a job. that does sound like a fedex thing to do. maybe thats also the case with national and freight, they give more to national to hurt freight and when national gets the union in and they will, freight will be rich with work. it's the same as ground and express, who is working for less money these days.
