In response to “Lucky to have a job”
Luck is a belief in good or bad fortune in life caused by accident or chance, and attributed by some to reasons of faith or superstition, which happens beyond a person's control.
I personally don’t understand the concept of “you are lucky to have a job!” Are you telling us we should fear the future? We should subjugate ourselves to the employer and we can only survive at his discretion. Is this your definition of luck? Therefore, qualifications, work experience, a solid work history is meaningless. In the blue-collar job market, experience, dedicated service, longevity, a solid work history is irrelevant. That is not my experience.
FedEx plays an important part in the global market, as employees our dollars earned and spent play an important role in this market economy.
“Lucky”, in your attempt to instill fear as a method to try to continue to exploit our labor, your attempt to scapegoat, isolate and prevent us from a broader socio-economic participation is ridiculous.
FedEx workers, let’s not sell ourselves short; we must not anticipate that this cannot be done. This is an accomplishment that only we can accomplish. It is our individual votes which will decide our future.
A vote! Our vote! We must separate ourselves from a since of mental slavery.
That new immigration law in Arizona should be enough proof of our destination, especially when our destination is in our own hands!
