A Letter To Congress And U.S Senate From Rep.Linda Sanchez

Dear Colleague,

In December 2008, I proudly served on a Blue Ribbon Commission Panel convened to hear
testimony on the struggle to keep FedEx jobs in the Los Angeles area in the middle class. What I
learned from workers, economic experts, clergy, and community leaders was that FedEx has
systematically eroded its workers wages, insurance and retirement benefits to the point where
workers are now on the brink of falling out of the middle class.
The Blue Ribbon Commission Panel learned of how difficult it is for a FedEx worker employed
full-time to pay for health coverage costs for his family. The costs go up while the coverage
goes down. We learned that FedEx changed worker retirement plans which resulted in
individual losses of hundreds of thousands of dollars in retirement income to many workers.
Even if employees work longer and retire later, they will still end up with less money. We
learned that FedEx routinely retaliates against and intimidates its workers who are attempting to
form a union. We learned how FedEx manipulated federal law in 1996 to strip the FedEx
Express workers of their right to freedom of association and make it harder for the workers to
orgamze.
After hearing and compiling all of the compelling testimony, the Blue Ribbon Commission Panel
is now issuing this report with our recommendations on how to keep FedEx jobs in Los Angeles
in the middle class. Our recommended course of action includes calling on FedEx to become
neutral and allow the workers to unionize if they so choose and for Congress to approve
legislation that would return the FedEx workers rights to freedom of association by eliminating
the 1996 "FedEx Special Deal" so workers may exercise their rights to unionize ifthey want to.
I believe this report will be as eye-opening to you as the testimony was to us, and I encourage
you to take some time during the upcoming weeks to read it.

Sincerely,
Linda T. Sanchez
Member of Congress

So let me get this straight. Andy Lessin just puts up an anti Union bulletin board and talks on the phone all day and that justifies his 100K salary.

Andy Lessin makes me feel depressed when he keeps harassing me about the Union. I already feel like this job at Fedex continues to get worse and Andy keeps giving me a hard time disrespecting me when Andy keeps talking about how bad a Union is while I am on part time status. Andy doesn't care about me or my family cause if he did he would of stood up against the people back east. Andy just cares about himself and that is just very selfish. I am depressed and stressed out and I don't know what to do.

We have known Tito for quite some time now and Tito has alway's been a good worker.the problem Tito had with C.L.C was favoritism, plus David Castaneda black balled Tito becouse of his union activities.Others service centers like Fontana F.L.C Roger Boring tagged him also. They would give him short runs or just keep him on the dock most of the night. He was set up on a wrongful termination just becouse he believed in unionizing Fedex.Tito wasn't the only driver being short changed.Hopefully Tito gets the justice he deserves and win his case.Becouse there is no wrong side for being part of the LABOR MOVEMENT.Fontana management must have known about Tito's pro union position becouse we knew.Roger Boring would never give him any long run .Tito would take his lunchs and breaks on time and still Roger would bypass him and give he'skiss a...s the better runs.Tito you are not alone Roger Boring has his prefer dockworkers. if you got cigaretes you are on his side.becouse he can't affort his own.here in fontana pm they have their prefer dockworker, they seperate light trailers and the heavy load.the prefer kiss ass dockworkers get the heavy loads just to make their oerformance look good the not prefer dockworkers get the light trailers and our performance goes down and we get a special attention award,A WRITTEN NOTICE for not performing to their standard.we need a union here at Fedex.we hope the congres rep.read ours web CHANGEFEDEXTOWIN.COM

No. It justifies my reasoning that he's an asswipe.

"Andy Lessin makes me feel depressed when he keeps harassing me about the Union."

Andy Lessin isn't allowed make you feel anything. You only need to realize his motives are different from yours or your co-workers. You both see the world in different ways.

"Andy doesn't care about me or my family. . ."

This is is the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. I don't give a shit about him, either. And because of that small fact, I will have a clean conscience when I say YES to union representation.

Honestly, I couldn't care less if the guy thrives, dies, or grows rose blossoms out his ass. I want mine, and he does not have the power to stop me--unless I let him.

"I am depressed and stressed out and I don't know what to do."

Damn, John, this is serious. I think it is important to see a doctor. I'd have to claim it on L&I as it is clearly work related.

Andy, Andy, Andy
You just don't get it. You can't harass pro Union workers and try to suppress the truth from getting out. Burritos are not going to answer for loss of benefits. What goes around comes back around instant karma babe.

I wonder how many pages is Andy Lessin's anti Union agenda?

Paul Freyre's at it again. Cutting the hours of drivers he has an axe to grind with, while setting up his pets with OT DAILY!

While we're talking worthless red-shirts here, with all the "workforce reductions" that have been implemented, have we "reduced" the amount of red-shirts? You'd think with all the hourly employees that have been cut-down, there'd be less work for the supervisors to supervise!

It's time Uncle Fred got rid of the red-shirt dead weight like Freyre & co, it's time for the Teamsters to voice our concerns!

of course it sounds like paul freyre.. because it is paul freyre. all paul is good for is taking 20 smoking breaks a day and playing 1hour of foozeball daily. why hasnt he gotten fired for stealing many hours of company time daily??? is it because HR doesnt care? i think everyone who is or has been threatened or harrassed by any dispatch unite and file a classaction lawsuit.and mr. freyre stay off of this site or stop being a coward..dont you need to give your pets more overtime??

Anonymous said...

isnt it against company policy for freyre to be dating the girls upstairs like he does?

peek a boo said...

Paul Freyre is always trying to date employees. Isn't that against company policy, but Fedex management disregard rules as they seem fit. example: Mike Caceres who was dating a girl from dispatch when management (Greg Faith) was told he did nothing. Why is it that supervisors are allowed to date employees who work directly under them?

keep on talking big mouth contreras

what if I keep talking Paul? what will you do nothing! you can't stop the union! You can't do anything but try and intimidate me here, I will keep talking AND YOU CAN'T DO ANYTHING!

what Paul? Will you foosball me to death? Will you blow smoke in my face? You are so weak!

Paul Freyre on the Union website again. It sounds like Paul Freyre is harassing employees through this website. We all know you don't do much work you just kick back on the phone talking to your girlfriend or you are outside smoking for 45 minutes at a time or you are hanging out in the hallway flirting with whatever girl comes along or you are down in the breakroom playing foosball for an hour with whatever driver who wants to kiss ass. Grow up bro

WE WILL SEE? See what? See Paul Freyre smoke? See Paul foos? See Pauls pathetic attempts to hook up with girls upstairs? I think we have already seen it all! Someone should put this time theif in his place!!!

Paul Freyre do work? Please, he is always too busy in Greg's office kissing ass or flirting with girls upstairs trying to get a date. A little fishing of the company pier??
