You Asked For An Answer...

"Could you please explain how the central states fund is doing? How much money is left? Who's hand is in the cookie jar?"

Thanks
3rd Floor

If you have any questions about the finances of the Teamsters Central States Pension Fund, I would recommend that you read the quarterly reports of the Independent Special Counsel that monitors the fund’s activities under the Fitzimmons consent decree. Here’s a link for the most recent report:
https://www.centralstatesfunds.org/CSF/Pdf/Arbitration_Letters/6-1-2009-1st2009.pdf

On page 4 of this report, the independent special counsel noted that the “…vast majority of the Fund’s active members were covered by collective bargaining agreements that have come into compliance with the Fund’s rehabilitation plan. Almost all of the compliant employers and bargaining units have agreed to adopt the rehabilitation plan’s Primary Schedule (generally requiring 7-8%annual contribution increases for five years and maintaining current benefit levels.)

On page 5, he notes that, “Although it thus appears the Pension Fund has reported progress in securing increased employer contributions and controlling benefits as required of “critical status” plans under the PPA, (the Pension Protection Act of 2006) the financial information presented below also makes clear that the Fund has suffered serious investment losses in the general stock market and economic downturn that occurred during 2008 and the first quarter of 2009.”

Finally, the response to your question is on page 8: “The financial report prepared by Fund staff for the three months ending March 31, 2009 shows net assets as of that date of $15,664,384,000.

It is clear to anybody who doesn’t have an ax to grind that there is no criminal “hand is in the cookie jar.” The CSPF is certainly in financial trouble, like many multi-employer Taft-Hartley benefit funds. But the trustees who direct its investments are complying with all legal requirements to protect the pensions of workers.

Andy Lessin is at is again? He said he never reads this website because it is pro Union. Now he is lying again. How many faces does this guy have? Lie, lie, lie.
I thought you said that employees losing full time status would only be a handful? Is that just another lie. A Union would be the best thing for you. That way you would have to respect employees under your supervision or you would actually have consequences if you didn't. I can't believe you have the nerve to have an anti Union bulletin board. If you have all this free time to make a bulletin board you must not be doing your job. Oh I forgot, you just sit up in an office away from the drivers and dockworkers talking on a phone all day. Is that really work?

Did ya read this Cabbage Patch?
Pass it on.
Seems as if the TEAMSTERS are more up front than you are-and your brethren that dispense the,"corporate speak".
Now for you to answer-anyone of you-the Hugh Morris blatant lie that,"you will like this new setup",.
Awaiting your reply.

A question for ya'll(East's language)Cabbage Patch,3floor,x-Man,Mike,Russ,henry,et al;
How,oh how can a Union company-Doomed TO Failure-out perform a non-union company? That is UPS vs Fredex.
According to Bloomberg that's what's happening.See attached video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4RRbTtPoOgQ
Then too is Fred Fredex on a Zollars type trek?
What's that you say.Simply put,the corporate ego trip of acquisitions-Kinkos,Watkins-and attempting to run just ahead of his most recent failure to stay afloat while satisfying his ego of being a major player in corporate America.
Unlike Zollars Fred doesn't have a union to go to to help bail him out.
He doesn't need one,he can arbitrarily change the rules anytime he wants.Even if what he does is slightly illegal or at a minimum distasteful.
Workers are workers and are to be treated accordingly(except for the pilots, they're Teamsters).
So to satisfy Fred Fredex's ego and greed WE-the workers-suffer the consequences by experiencing what we have this past year.
Betcha Fred Fredex hasn't cut back on any of his perks or boys toys, while the changes he has initiated have turned our lives upside down and inside out.
We don't deny the Fred Fredex has provided us with a an opportunity to be employed by a major U.S. corporation;we do deny his treating us the way he has-like RENTED MULES.
That's why we need a TEAMSTER's contract to protect us from Fred Fredex, just like the pilots and UPS have.
I await your reply and please list your bibliography,I'm tired of doing your fact checks.

Mike Caceres does whatever Andy tells him to do. He is just kisses up to Andy. If Andy told him to support the Union he would. Mike does NOT have a mind of his own. Some people in life are not leaders they are just followers. Some people follow clowns.

Andy Lessin has harassed me many time on the dock pulling me aside trying to lie to me and tell me how a Union can't help me. I come to work not hear bullshit.

Was I right or what?
About Fred Fredexs' ego trip that's what.
Adding insult to injury Fred Fredex is on the short list to purchase a 60% share of the Rams(NFL Football Team).
Wonder what you'll lose now?Maybe start off by ,"donating",your lunches.Or,how about contributing to the reduction of overhead by purchasing the fuel for your tractor.
Think about it,you muddling(middle-sorry)management could send your suggestions to Fred Fedex-wouldn't send them through channels,if they were good the Conway guys would submit them as their own-then,if they were implemented YOU could get your picture taken with Fred Fredex. You pay for the film.
The possibilities are unlimited.
Just as Fred Fredex has said,"Times are tough",that's why he didn't go for 75% or more.

Just thought about something. How many teams do the Teamsters have a part of? None, they're dedicated to protecting your interests so you can afford a tv to watch the games.
How much more do you need demonstrated to you before you realize that Fred Fredex is out for himself and NOT YOU !!!

Hey Andy are you really feeling guilty? by buying your employees burritos or is that another source of anti-union propaganda? if you ask me what this is all about it pure guiltiness, because nothing is for FREE, especially from you Andy. Accept the fact that the union (us) is already here. Remember Andy honesty and truthfulness and last kindness is the best policy, but deceiving, dishonesty, retaliation, anger and finally hatred is bad policy. Choosing a union is the people chioce, and not your choice Andy... From Matt Dominguez

Well, well, well!

Hello future union brothers, red skirts, management and all other interested personel.
A. Lessin that's a name I have not heard for quite some time as posted by anonymous.
I have many questions for the management monitoring this blog and other websites like ltlboards.com
First of all when you have a company that has been on the forefront of the LTL industry and Mr.F. Smith stated after purchasing Viking he was publicly quoted that "Viking is the jewel of the LTL industry" and you bring in some "LTQ" less than qualified" management from conway to run this company flying by the seat of their pants making rules which are unfair for the employees and make no common sence to any of us, and after sending our good customers packing (pun intended). Then giving our remaining customers guidelines to follow because fedex says so, it's no wonder we are the laughing stock of the LTL business these days. Big businesses do not need us to tell them when to ship and what time to have shipments ready.
Now that we have got that out of the way.

Management please get closer to your screens and pay attention please.

When you treat your employees like crap and expect them to remain faithful to ol' Freddy it's just not going to happen. We all know that the majority of drivers are now for the union.

We have had bogus write ups, mind numbing rules that make no sense, and you folks expecting the employees to bow down to the company because of many reasons like the accident policy, the sick policy, set checks, and not paying for work preformed on the job such as scale inspections, or drops and hooks which take more about 45 minutes to an hour minutes and only paying for 30 minutes! You all know better.
These are a few of the things that have pi$$ed off the masses of employees. If the shoe was on the other foot you too would want the union to protect your job, we understand that you are management and you must be pupets to the corporate big wigs to protect your jobs. You all in mangement should understand why we all want the union.
Management we do not need the lies, and the idle threats of closing down a service center because it went union. We all stand together! As Union Brothers! This did not have to happen, but management condones the actions so we must stand together.

Thank You,

Fed Up Fred

Damm Andy Lessin you are a f#&king funny guy, you actually bought your employees burritos. Because now you are trying to gain your employees loyalty and respect (LOL) Matt is right that is a sign of guilt, plus you are insecured of yourself. You want respect from your employees? then take down your anti-union bulletin board and keep your pie hole shut and leave those Whittier boys alone and let them organize their union. Let me tell you something Andy at my second job U.P.S in our contract says and is negotiated that there shouldn't be any kind of anti-union propaganda or hired of any union busters, now that's respect between management and employees. Now Andy lessin you keep on being yourself cause you're doing a fine job at being a block head. ( "MARIO")

"Hey Andy are you really feeling guilty? by buying your employees burritos or is that another source of anti-union propaganda?"

Absolutely not! It's bribery and interference with a union drive. Take notes about this!

Well well, well, It seems Andy that the dangling burrito in front of the employees is not such a good idea after all you think?
Maybe if you convinced corporate to be honest, fair, and humane to the employees you and the company would not be in such dire straights at this point.
Union gravity is getting stronger while you and the other managers and corporate find out the western employees will not sit by idle while management screws up this company.
I firmly believe that corporate decisions is the problem with YRCW and not the union as someone stated. 3rd floor has a valid question but as we know WE have more questions that you and corporate will not address.
What caused the seniority to be overlooked with the Tucson Line Drivers? You have 25 to 30 year guys being bumped by 6 year employees? Fair I dont think so!
Honest, as Hugh M. stated which bugs the shit out of me "you guys are really going to like this"!
When Hugh? When are we going to like this?
Fix the issues within our walls before you start judging other companies. You have not seen the last of the lawsuits by the employees.
Now make way for the union.

Can somebody help me here to understand something? I am puzzle here??? Here we got a PM supervisor (J.C_____r) in Devore center, always preaching how the Teamsters are corrupted that the Teamsters only want your money, and finally that the Teamsters will never come in at FedEx. But who is corrupted here? when J.C got pop for selling marijuana and growing it and to top it of his house gets raided. Is this the kind of supervision we hired at FeEx? Now who's hand is in the cookie jar? Got an answer Russ? or how about you andy or maybe 3rd floor Lake Elsinore. « Informador »

HE CAN MOVE ON, IN FACT OTHERS WILL TOO, MANAGERS ARE EASY TO REPLACE. RIGHT MIKE JORDAN.

Come on Mr.informador, Russ is not going to do anything about it, even though FedEx is committed to an alcohol and drug free workplace. Company strictly prohibits the unlawful manufacture, distribution, dispensation, possesion, or use of illigal drugs. But also remember FedEx keeps clean background check on all staff and employees. One question to add to your comment Mr.informador, was J.C distributing to staff and employees? Remember dock help and staff don't drug test anymore after hiring.
