About Union Dues ...

This is for our new viewers to this blogsite. Welcome!

Union dues are 2 1/2 times your hourly wage.As a driver I make $22.40 hr. That would make my dues $56.00 a month. This money is for the up keep of the locals who represent your service center. This also gets you representation by the Union who
will fight with you with a grievance procedure in case of a wrongful termination or suspension. Most likely you pay insurance for your house, cars and valuable things, so why not your job?

I pay $28.00 a paycheck for my medical a week. That’s $112.00 a month just for that. Plus my co-pays,which have gone up in price this year also! You do the math. Would it be cheaper to pay out of your pocket $112.00 a month, $1344 a year?
Or $56.00 a month, $672.00 a year? I don't know about you, but I could sure use that extra $672.00 a year and not depend on that crap shoot of a Vpep at end of the fiscal year. Which is most likely going to be around $960.00 minus taxes, minus 401K deductions.
