( FROM LTLBOARDS FED UP FRED) We HAD a hostler here in Devore who was doing nothing wrong in the eyes of many. This hostler was terminated for.........doing exactly what the company wishes and promotes. "GOING GREEN" This now ex employee was let go by our company for pulling aluminum cans out of the trash can to "RECYCLE" them.
You know how FEDEX promotes "GOING GREEN" yet they fired this poor guy for taking these empty cans out to be recycled.

Double standards? Wishy washy? you make the call!
20 plus years gone! Thanks FedEX... ( THIS PART IS FROM JOE NUÑO.... MR. RUSS FLECK, YOU COULD HAVE WARNED ELIAS OROZC0 NOT TO DO THIS AGAIN, YOU DAMM KNEW ELIAS WAS A HELL OF A WORKER. ELIAS GAVE THIS COMPANY 100% OR MORE OF HIMSELF. IT'S NOT LIKE IT CAME OUT OF FEDEX PROFITS OR YOUR DAMM WALLET"RUSS", IT WAS PEOPLE FUCKING UNWANTED WASTE, EXCUSE MY FRENCH BUT THIS WAS AN EXCUSE TO GET RID OF "SENIORITY" OR "DISCRIMINATION". RUSS I THOUGHT YOU WERE'D ONE OF THE BEST MANAGER WITH A HEART, BUT I WAS WRONG ABOUT YOU...) MY OPINION AND FREEDOM OF SPEECH.

And they wonder why the employees are wanting the union. This is unfair actions brought against this employee. If this person had any idea he was wrong doing, he would have not have been trying to recycle the trashed aluminum cans.
They did not belong to a customer, nor did they belong as property of fedex.
Going green? My ass! Maybe now this man will hit the wrongful termination lottery.
I hope he does. Great job Russ. You must be proud! Maybe you asses can put that in your employee manual.
Jerks!

Shame on you Russ;thought you had more morals and ethics within you.
What are you going to teach your students when you begin teaching?
Oops, may have just let a conflict of interest out of the bag. What's that you say?Well aren't you supposed to dedicate your life to FREDEX?Doesn't pursuing you teaching degree CONFLICT with the purple pledge?
Geez,if I were you I might want to re-evaluate things.

Attended the meeting and it was informational and educational.Turnout was good.Input from those attending was also enlightening even from an individual who's perspective of the Teamsters was questionable.
Most encouraging was that he was not treated with disrespect but rather listened too and his points concerning the Teamsters and its membership ramifications answered,I thought, fully.
Thats nice, but why do I relay this information to you?
Here's why. When's the last time you could raise YOUR hand and voice an objection?Object to what was or wasn't happening.Question why policies being put into place were wrong or damaging to you, your fellow workers and YOUR FAMILY.
Last time was a long time ago.
That's why we need a TEAMSTERS CONTRACT.Then, whether they like it or not, when you raise your hand you will be acknowledged and your grievances/questions addressed.Or we'll follow contract procedures to insure that they are.
Wow,what a concept. Not being afraid to speak up.

Remember when Andy Lessin recycled cans for himself. Money that went into his pocket and Andy used Viking trailers to do so with company drivers using company time. Then John Hinckley told him to stop it. Was that Andy's Vpep?

Dear Rudy,
Is it true a supervisor and personal friend promoted by
James Meyer and Andy Lessin was terminated from a drug bust and tested positive for drugs and solicitated stereo equipment on the docks???? Have you heard anything about this or is it just rumor?

That would seem to be a harsh delivery of discipline Russ. I would have to guess that Elias had several warnings that what he was doing was against company policy since I used to see him everyday collecting the cans at SBO. I even gave my empty cans to him. So sad.

hey russel fleck, you bragg about about how much influence you have with fedex or was that just for your ladie employees , you just prove you're just a bull shiter. elias was a hard worker, elias never had a write up, never miss work, never late for almost 24 years. russel you are one of the reason to want a union at fedex, you should have been a teacher, instead of a terminal manager. it's true this was an excuse to get rid of hispanic. you should be proud of yourself.

That is truely a shame that this employee was fired. If we had a rules and regulations that would not be changed on a daily basis we would know the "rules of the game" these guys are playing. Since we dont know the rules, we are subject to this type of treatment.
How about someone from the company who can give any one of us a good reason why this guy was fired?
This is wrong. You all know its true so does fedex freight.

So why don't some one in the union hold a t.v. news conference to show why these employees Want and Need the Unions here. This would be great Breaking News Now, for our Customers to see how petty these clowns are.

WTF? Everyone at whittier does this same thing, recycle cans!! Even the TM Andy Lessin, I have personally see him recycle cans. I think then if this guy was fired then I think its only fair to fire everyone who does this, even Andy! I bet they won't, lets see if they do anything to Andy.

Same thing hapened a year ago at ANAHEIM TERMINAL.When Tito Ayala was fired by Mike Hutton.this driver was suspended for taking a wrong trailer out of a yard, which did not have any freight just junk pallets, but was still suspended.A week later, this driver was terminated.not becouse of moving a wrong trailer, but for refusing to work! This driver had worked almost 11 1/2 hours and wasn't feeling well which he reported to C L C and Whittier F L C this driver was a pro union and was single out not only by management, but also by some fellow employees spyng on this union organizer. Elias Orosco was also a union supporter and maybe that's one of the reasons not for collecting cans he's been collecting cans for years he got lots of witnesses that's knows Elias Orosco Russ Fleck fire this hostler becouse after 20 plus years becoming a part timer and no benefits he was in favor to forming a union.Maybe you should talk to Jesse Lopez from WHITTIER CA he also hit the wrongfull termination lottery 6 month ago or Tito Ayala from ANAHEIM CA im sure you can use their lawyer also go to THE LABORBOARD they will be happy to hear from you SHAME ON YOU RUSS FLECK p&d from WHITTIER CA maybe you should come to whittier to fire more people for collecting cans becouse they can't support their family with 4 hour shift also don't foget to fire your body ANDY LESSIN for stealing company time collecting cans also call the right win FOX NEWS about breaking news at San Bernardino terminal that you are the MAN not John Hinkly firing workers.

I remember Russ Fleck suspending an employee for a day beacause the employee's pen ran out of ink while working and when the employee went up to the office to ask for a pen Russ got pissed in a fit of rage and sent the employee home for the day on suspension. How compassionate is this???
This is the same guy with a chip on his shoulder who has something to prove and the only person he cares about is himself. Walking by cussing at employees always with an attitude. Russ Fleck's attitude is unprofessional and disrespectful.

So some manager fired some worker over at FedEx Freight. Check out the new Employee Handbook page 2read "Function of Handbook" at the top, then go to page 47 read "At-Will Employment" on the bottom. It is what the workers at FedEx Freight signed up, and happily work for; so why the rub?

People people wake and see the light, all this bullshit about Y.R.C that Fedex pass it on their Fedex daily news is all connected together. Why because I would bet Bill Zollars is in ties with Fedex corp, hell I would think mr. Zollars would probaly get a retired bonus for busting Y.R.C, all this is part of a union busting scheme so our wages will start going down. Just think about it and analyze this, do your homework.

irudedog said...

the majority of the employees that have signed the new handbook have been here for at least 10-20 years now. they did not sign up for these changes back than. so your saying if they don't agree just leave fedex and find another job? its so nice you have time during work and on company time to write and read this blog.typical management rap. as always.

ps why dont you give the employees a week to read the handbook before you make them sign it. and then you can make changes to it if they disagree. oh wait then that would be a contract which you and your superiors dont want what us employees to have.

Here's a reply to my posting regarding the Rialto meeting from Bare Knuckles.
Great post Frankie. Man, could I tell you stories. I don't really know where to begin. But I will say that I know exactly what you guys are experiencing. After almost 30 years of trucking in Cali. I have just became a Teamster almost 3 years ago. You speak of raising your hand and miraculously you are heard. Wait until you attend your first grievance panel. It is amazing to watch a procedure such as this in action. Both parties, the Teamsters and the company, have representatives present who are there to protect their best interests. Issues (grievances) that have been brought forth by union members are on the docket for review. These panels are usually held in a conference room at a hotel. They go on for the better part of a week. To sit and watch several reps. from the company and several from the Teamsters hashing out contract violations, and coming up with mutual agreements, that both parties can agree on, is about as good as it gets people. Imagine that. Someone feels they have been done wrong at work, they file a document conveying these discrepancies, and then your business agent fights on your behalf. Priceless. It's a hell of a lot better than hearing your TM say I will get back to you. And then never hearing a fucking thing again. Or sorry but that is just the way it's going to be. Now I say, sorry I don't think so, we have a contract pal. Gotta go for now. Nice warm Sunday, and I have two wheels that need to roll. Bare Knuckles.
Wow!What a concept, being treated with respect and dignity even though they(corporate)HATE it.
All I can add is:Try it you'll like it.
